Hurricane Rita

Well Houston is definitely panicked.  I didn't want to be around a mob of lunatics, so we packed up our stuff and went to Dallas via Bellville, Brenham, Temple and Waco, which turned out to be a huge success.  We made it to Dallas safely in 6 hours, which was much more desirable than the 24 hour wait on I45.

I hope everyone in Houston is safe, because it's going to be incredibly difficult to get out of the city now.  I'm glad we left when we did.

It's thursday and this storm seems soo hyped now.Houston is going to get the clean side of the storm, every hour this storm is turning north, towards LA, maybe it will hit LA.I think it's going to feel more like a mild tropical depression rather than ahurricane. Almost everyone got a "nice" vacation out of it.Too bad I can't move around the city to visit my friends.

I think that the body of the hurricane is still an issue, and we could still get quite a bit of bad weather.Port Arthur and Beaumont are going to get hit HARD, and we will feel the effects for a long time.My aunt and uncle fled Beaumont yesterday, drove 22 hours to get out of harms way.My grandparents are still stuck in traffic, trying to find ANY place to stay.I am also fearful of looting and crime in such a panicky situation.
