Adopting Agile Slides

Agile Houston tonight was a pretty good turn out. There were over 30 people, so it was a good number to get people talking.  If you came, I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments!

I was able to talk to a number of agile folks from Houston and it’s really cool to see this type of enthusiasm at a local level.

You can download the slides here.

(Matt recorded the whole thing, so if I can get the audio bits I’ll post those as well).

OR NOT.

Can't seem to get the slides, I get a 404 (PNF) error. Perhaps the server doesn't know what a PPTX file is yet? Silly MIME types... ;)

Nice slides, looks like a good presentation. I think I learned something new!

I'm going to buy my boss a book tomorrow.

On the solo artist slide, I can't agree more with leading by example. I started committing my .Tests projects right along with my assemblies and within a couple of days questions came up -- what's that? Oh, it's my unit tests, you need NUnit if you want to build those. A few days later I hear, "That NUnit is some slick stuff, I'm using it for the testing I'm doing on my new code." TDD is infectious, it's like a disease, only gooder.

Once it catches on you have to follow up with some solid examples of how client-first development and separation of concerns helps make the tests better, and ultimately results in better impementation code.

"only gooder" -lol

That's awesome that they noticed. Sometimes it takes a little nudge.

I travel from Galveston to attend the Agile meetings. I was unable to attend this time. The slides are much appreciated. The audio would be great! Thanks.
